Daily Schedule--fall/spring 2013.2014

8:15-8:30 a.m. morning drop-off [greetings, shoes, bathroom visits for toddlers, hand washing]

8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. independent work cycle including lunch preparation

9:45 a.m. snack over

11:00 a.m.-11:20 a.m. ellipse time

11:30 a.m.-12 noon lunch
*12:15 p.m. -12:30 p.m. half-day pick up*

12:15 p.m.-1:15 p.m. outdoors

2:15- 3:00 p.m. afternoon work

3:00 p.m.-3:15 p.m. afternoon pickup


Hand washing will include traditional soap and water rather than commercial hand sanitizer to insure proper cleanliness. This practice also encourages care of self as well as exercising fine/gross motor skills. Riverwood House does not use paper towels. Individual cotton towels are available and laundered after each individual use.

The outdoor schedule will be indoors if Mother Nature chooses to express harshness [torrential downpour, blizzard, or excessive heat].

Notes:
1. snack will occur once throughout the day [morning work cycle].. Snack will consist of a fruit and/or Riverwood House baked good.
2. Riverwood House is a meat-free environment [vegetarian]. However, dairy such as milk and baked goods with egg will be served. Please notify the guide about special needs such as digestive issues, food/plant/animal allergies and religious/humanitarian beliefs regarding food.
3. Families are welcome to eat with their child/ren on “potluck” Mondays and Thursdays. Please notify the guide when you would like to eat with your child.

There is a new family non-refundable application fee [$50] as well as a non-refundable materials fee [$135], which includes snack, materials for arts and garden.

Riverwood House requires ALL interested families to schedule a visit to the site prior to completing an application. Visits may be scheduled M-Th, 8:15 am-10 am and Saturdays, 10 am-12 noon.
